This first EP is the embodiment of The Lonely Free’s commitment to present their own original song material, along with new takes on blues rock classics such as Led Zep’s « Whole Lotta Love » and Janis Joplin’s « Move Over ».
As far as original songs go, you’ll find here a beautiful ballad
entitled « Songs to set you free », while « Still Standing » is a blues with a definitive New Orleans feel. And finally the more pop rock « What it’s all about » , with it’s powerful vocals alongside Mark Knopfler inspired guitar playing.

Mixed and Masterised at Mistin Music Production nearby Brussels, those recordings showcase the band’s goal to diversify it’s musical sources of inspiration while staying true to their blues roots, whether it is when revisiting classics or during songwriting.

about
A Belgian Band from Brussels, The Lonely Free was put together during the Spring of 2015 by four musicians united by their passion for blues and rock music.
Given the band members extraordinary complicity and musical talent, what started out as a blues cover band quickly turned to a songwriting project.
The band is made of Sophie Kroonen on vocals, Julie Jeavons on guitar, Dimitri Evers on fretless bass and Stéphane Rossewy on drums. The bands’s musical influences are quite diverse, going from Linda Perry to Amy Winehouse, from Janis Joplin to
Robert Plant, or even from JJ Cale to Mark Knopfler…
while the blues is never far behind!
The Lonely Free recorded a first EP during the winter of 2016. It comprises 3 original songs as well as two covers of
Led Zeppelin and Janis Joplin songs.
After working on a video clip a bluesy version of Led Zep’s « Whole Lotta Love » classic with photograph and filmmaker Marion Tremblett, the band is currently working on the EP’s release and performing their music live on stage.
